Industry Specific ComplianceThe Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) on March 18, 2026, notified the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Framework for Resource Adequacy) Regulations, 2026

The following has been stated: -

•To enable a framework for planning generation resources to reliably meet projected demand using an optimum generation mix.

•The regulations apply to generating companies, distribution licensees, transmission companies, and other grid-connected entities in Chhattisgarh.

•The framework covers demand assessment, generation resource planning, procurement planning, and compliance monitoring.

•Resource Adequacy exercises are to be prepared for a 10-year period on an annual rolling basis.

•Distribution licensees must perform demand forecasts for short-term (1 year), medium-term (5 years), and long-term (10 years) periods.

•It involves capacity crediting of generation resources and assessment of the Planning Reserve Margin (PRM).

•These regulations come into force on March 18, 2026.
